Gather, answer, help discover
Osmetheca is an online encyclopedia devoted to niche perfumery, launched in 2026. The site rests on a simple idea, held in three complementary ambitions.
Gather in one place the raw materials, olfactive families, houses, perfumers, and compositions of niche perfumery.
Answer each precise question with a precise, accessible, and verified answer.
Help discover a less exposed olfactive family, a quiet perfumer, a forgotten material, or a perfume school away from the spotlight.
Two signatures, one standard
Osmetheca rests on two complementary signatures: one in publication direction, one in editorship.
Sabrina Carlier
Founder and publication director. Trained in law and management and a niche perfumery enthusiast for about a decade, she sets the editorial direction of the site. Her page.
Viviane Eeman
Editor-in-chief. Belgian journalist specializing in contemporary art and premium lifestyle, with more than thirty years in magazine journalism (Paris Match Belgique, L'Eventail, La Libre, VILLAS Decoration). She safeguards editorial consistency and oversees the review of Journal articles. Her page.
Converging sources and factual verification
Every piece of Osmetheca content rests on a constant requirement of reliability, guided by three principles.
Converging sources. A piece of information is published only once several serious sources confirm it and agree. When a doubt cannot be resolved, the claim is set aside rather than guessed.
Systematic factual verification. Dates, proper names, and figures are cross-checked before publication, drawing on the authority sources of perfumery.
Distinct registers. Descriptive entries aim for objectivity, while the Journal carries a more personal editorial voice. Journal articles are reviewed by the editor-in-chief before publication.
Where the information comes from
Verification draws on sources ranked by authority, from reference institutions to the official sites of the houses.
