History

In 2025, at Esxence, Filippo Sorcinelli widened his Atmosphere d'Emotion collection with a chapter devoted to wind: four perfumes joining the three rains and three fogs. Brezza Leggera, or “light breeze,” is the gentlest of them.

The official text quotes the first Book of Kings: after the fire, a still, gentle breeze (1 Kings 19:11-12). It is the breath that speaks low to the prophet Elijah, a thread of sonorous silence, a certain presence even when we think we are alone.

The harmonic evolution carries that quiet grace. The subject is resinous and warm: myrrh, musk, labdanum. The counter-subject is Mediterranean and bitter: helichrysum, artemisia. The tail airs it out with pine, bergamot and the house's own “breeze” accord.

The result is an aromatic resinous woody, soft and dry at once, where warm resin lets a cool air pass through it. The most peaceful side of the Vento chapter, at the opposite end from its strong winds.

Olfactory pyramid

Filippo Sorcinelli is an organist; he does not think of his perfumes as a volatility pyramid of top, heart and base, but as a score. Brezza Leggera is therefore stated in three movements, subject, counter-subject and tail, exactly as the house publishes them.

Subject
Myrrhbalsamic resin
Muskenveloping base
Labdanumamber resin
Counter-subject
Mediterranean helichrysumhoneyed hay
Artemisiabitter aromatic
Tail
Pineresinous conifer
Bergamotsparkling citrus
Breezeairy accord

The through-line stays the same: the subject opens, the counter-subject shades, the tail closes, holding light breeze in scent.

Olfactory profile

Brezza Leggera opens warm and resinous: myrrh gives a balsamic resin, labdanum its amber, musk an enveloping base. It is a low, soft opening, without flash, like a breath announcing itself.

The heart brings the Mediterranean bitterness: helichrysum lays down honeyed hay, artemisia a dry, herbal thread. This is the layer that gives the scent its garrigue light and its air of warm breeze.

The tail opens the window: pine brings its fresh resin, bergamot a citric line, the breeze accord an airy breath. It lasts like an extrait, yet stays soft and close, with a calm trail. An aromatic woody for the mid-seasons, for spring and autumn.

“After the fire, a still, gentle breeze.”1 Kings 19:11-12, quoted by Filippo Sorcinelli
