History and inspiration
Bukhara belongs to La Route de la Soie, the Silk Road collection Ormonde Jayne launched in October 2020 and has expanded since. Added in 2024, it takes its name from Bukhara, the historic oasis city in Uzbekistan, and translates that crossroads of cultures into a generous fruity woody floral.
It opens on a juicy accord of peach, blackcurrant and bergamot, then blooms into a rich white-floral heart of tuberose, orange blossom and sambac jasmine. The base anchors that brightness in vanilla, amber, sandalwood and white cedar, with oud adding a dark, leathery edge that keeps the flowers from turning sweet.

Scent profile
The signature of Bukhara is the tension between its creamy white flowers and its woody base. The tuberose is fleshy and full rather than green, the jasmine adds heady depth, and the oud and cedar pull everything toward a darker, more resinous register.
On skin it is warm and projecting at first, then settles into a soft, woody-vanilla drydown. It reads as opulent without being old-fashioned, the oud kept smooth rather than medicinal.
