History
Filippo Sorcinelli's XSè collection means to be a social inquiry: a perfume can also observe human urges. Each fragrance takes a scene and its atmosphere as its subject, without judgment.
Cruising-Area sets to scent what the house describes as the smell of a nocturnal myth, coded across the world since ancient times: a rituality that lets those who belong recognize one another, a hidden, underground space with walls steeped in an ephemeral pleasure, where one abandons one's persona to be only a presence.
Sorcinelli states it as a harmonic evolution. The subject lays down the smoke: smoky notes, warm spices, cloves. The counter-subject gives it its dark body: patchouli, amyris, black pepper, vetiver. The tail is a base of woods and balms: copaiba balm, gurjun balm, guaiac wood, cedar, precious woods.

The through-line is smoke: smoky notes and clove set the smolder, patchouli and vetiver give it its dark body, and the balms and woods of the tail hold it for a long time.

The heart gives it its body: patchouli darkens it, amyris brings a softer wood, black pepper bites, vetiver roots the smoke. This is the deepest layer, the one that makes Cruising-Area a perfume of matter more than of atmosphere.
The tail is a base of balms and woods: copaiba and gurjun bring their warm, smoky resins, guaiac its smoked wood, cedar its dry line. Longevity is that of an extrait, long and tenacious; the sillage is ample and dark. A smoky woody for assertive temperaments, best kept for the evening and winter.
