History

In the SuperFluo? collection, Filippo Sorcinelli's most intimate, La Voglia d'Amare is the second summer perfume, the nocturnal counterpart of Lentezza Carezza. It too is born of a poem: “It is like looking for spaces in a hand, in the soft squares of red loneliness, in the keys of a love changed in the night.”

The story is that of a summer night. When the sun sets and the heat of the day gives way to the cool of night, the atmosphere charges with an energy that tastes of mystery. The city lights come on, but the adventures are sought by walking along the sea, where the figures are blurred and you hear only the sea and a few cars in the distance.

Time passes and the summer night invites you to get lost, to be carried by a breeze scented with after-sun creams that blend with the tar of a nearby, freshly resurfaced road. Everything becomes possible under the reflections of the moon, sitting to watch an undefined landscape that turns black into blue. These are, Sorcinelli writes, passions of everyone, for everyone, of a minute or a whole night, the ones that fix themselves forever.

Sorcinelli states it as a harmonic evolution. The subject lays a chypre base through oak moss, musk and amber. The counter-subject contradicts it with coconut cream and iris rhizome, the softness of a tanned skin. The tail seals the whole with pine tar and tangerine, the warm asphalt and the citrus of the night.

Harmonic evolution

Filippo Sorcinelli is an organist; he does not conceive his perfumes as a pyramid of volatility but as a score. La Voglia d'Amare is therefore stated in three movements, subject, counter-subject and tail, exactly as the house publishes them.

Subject
Oak mossgreen chypre
Musksoft skin
Amberwarm resin
Counter-subject
Coconut creamsolar milk
Iris rhizomerooty powder
Tail
Pine tarsmoky asphalt
Tangerinenight citrus

The through-line is the sea night: oak moss and amber hold the chypre base, coconut cream and iris lay down the softness of a tanned skin, and the closing pine tar sends the warm asphalt of a road by the water through it.

Olfactory profile

La Voglia d'Amare opens on an unexpected contrast: a chypre base, oak moss and amber, setting a green, woody depth at once contradicted by the milky softness of a coconut cream. It is the smell of a salted, tanned skin over a marine undergrowth.

The heart rests on that paradox: iris rhizome brings a rooty, slightly cold powder that tempers the coconut and keeps the perfume from turning into sweet beach. You stay in a summer night, not in a holiday monoi.

The tail is the signature: pine tar lays its smoky asphalt, the smell of a freshly resurfaced road by the sea, while a tangerine casts a citrus light. Longevity is that of an extrait, long and close to the skin; the sillage is enveloping, singular, between softness and bitumen.

“A breeze scented with after-sun creams that blend with the tar of a nearby, freshly resurfaced road.”Filippo Sorcinelli, official note for La Voglia d'Amare
