Quick answers
History
Late Lunch is a perfume of place. Byredo built it as an exclusive for Jondal, on the southern coast of Ibiza, sold through the Byredo x Particular store. The title says it all: the late lunch that runs long, when the table stays set and the light fades before anyone wants to move.
Nicolas Bonneville composes a herbal rather than sunlit Mediterranean. Orange blossom, lemon and mandarin open fresh, but lentisk, rosemary salt, pink pepper and galbanum quickly pull the citrus toward the scrubland, the bitter and the green.
The base of ambrox, helvetolide and cedar settles the warmth of dusk over the coast. Nothing sweet here: Late Lunch stays a dry, saline scent, built for one climate and one precise moment.
Olfactory pyramid
Byredo publishes its perfumes by note families. Here is Late Lunch as the house presents it.
From fresh citrus to salty wood, Late Lunch follows the sun across a table no one wants to clear.
Olfactory profile
Late Lunch opens bright: orange blossom, lemon and mandarin give a clean citrus flash with no sweet roundness. This is a midday citrus, frank and dry.
The heart tips into the scrubland. Lentisk and galbanum bring a green, resinous bitterness, and rosemary salt a herbal salinity that recalls the garrigue as much as skin after a swim. Pink pepper keeps it all lively.
The base is quiet and warm: ambrox, milky musk and cedar lay a mineral, dry foundation that extends the citrus without covering it. Longevity is moderate, the sillage close to the skin. A unisex aromatic for summer, built for heat.
"The mood of Mediterranean afternoons that stretch into evening, in the shift from daylight to dusk along the coast."Official Byredo statement, Late Lunch
