History

In the SuperFluo? collection, Filippo Sorcinelli's most intimate, Lentezza Carezza holds the summer slope. The perfume is born of a poem by the perfumer, an invocation of slowness: “I would like to get dirty with slowness, precious useless angel, slow sun fire, where the water rests with me and caresses the song of the skin.”

Its subject is an almost philosophical question: what does “there is no hurry” mean today? In the obsession with speed, we paradoxically lose the sense of time. Hence the desire to stop, to recognise and build the solitude of a sunlit afternoon. Slowness then becomes a necessary caress, almost like boredom, to sink into the limits of silence and keep listening to life.

Sorcinelli quotes Sepúlveda: remaining still becomes “a new form of resistance, in a world where everything is too fast, and where the greatest power is to decide what to do with one's own time.” Lentezza Carezza is a summer smell where loving oneself becomes a way of turning toward others with new eyes.

Sorcinelli states it as a harmonic evolution. The subject lays an amber, woody softness through vanilla, tonka bean, sandalwood, benzoin and musks. The counter-subject brightens it with jasmine, cyclamen, cedar and green notes. The tail brings the noon light: myrrh, prickly pear, bergamot and orange, like an afternoon that stings the solitude.

Harmonic evolution

Filippo Sorcinelli is an organist; he does not conceive his perfumes as a pyramid of volatility but as a score. Lentezza Carezza is therefore stated in three movements, subject, counter-subject and tail, exactly as the house publishes them.

Subject
Vanillawarm sweetness

Musksenveloping base
Counter-subject
Jasminewarm floral
Cyclamengreen floral
Cedardry wood

The through-line is the summer afternoon: vanilla and sandalwood hold the soft warmth, jasmine and green notes air it out, and the tail of prickly pear and citrus lets the noon light in.

Olfactory profile

Lentezza Carezza opens on a solar, woody softness: vanilla, tonka bean and sandalwood compose a skin warmth that benzoin rounds. This is a summer amber, mild rather than heavy, made for the slowness of an afternoon.

The heart brings air and green: jasmine warms, cyclamen opens a fresh green floral, cedar and green notes draw a vegetal line. This layer keeps the amber from weighing and gives it its summer breath.

The tail is the real surprise: prickly pear brings a fleshy, solar fruit, bergamot and orange a citrus light, while a stroke of myrrh anchors the whole. Longevity is that of an extrait, yet the spirit stays light; the sillage is soft, a caress more than a presence.

“Slowness becomes a necessary caress, to sink into the limits of silence and keep listening to life.”Filippo Sorcinelli, official note for Lentezza Carezza
