History

SuperFluo? is Filippo Sorcinelli's most intimate collection. Born of the desire to widen the offer through cosmetics and body care, it is enriched with fragrances devoted to the person, in an extrait de parfum version. Luce dei Cuori belongs to it, inseparable from its counterpart Dolcissimo Sollievo: the two form a diptych drawn from the same emotional humus.

The project seeks an olfactory elegance and a new understanding of luxury: a luxury housed in the pursuit of matter and availability, in questioning oneself and knowing oneself from within. These perfumes, the house says, are authentically modern; they reflect a society founded not on the race but made of aware, discerning consumers seeking distinctive fragrances.

The name itself is a sign. Luce dei Cuori, light of the hearts, and Dolcissimo Sollievo take their poetic names from the Sequence to the Spirit, the liturgical hymn of Pentecost. They remind and move, because weeping is essential to give value to emotions, and because our emotions need a light often found not outside but inside the heart. Knowing how to read one's own interior, Sorcinelli says, offers the perfect consolation.

Sorcinelli states it as a harmonic evolution. The subject sets a woody, amber warmth through sandalwood, vanilla, tonka bean, patchouli, amber and musks. The counter-subject brightens it with powdery iris and cedar. The tail opens a luminous window: rosemary, orange, rose, elemi and incense. It is a soft oriental, a gateway for anyone who tiptoes toward the art of scent.

Harmonic evolution

Filippo Sorcinelli is an organist; he does not conceive his perfumes as a pyramid of volatility but as a score. Luce dei Cuori is therefore stated in three movements, subject, counter-subject and tail, exactly as the house publishes them.

Subject
Sandalwoodmilky wood
Vanillawarm sweetness
Tonka beangourmand amber
Patchoulidark wood
Ambersolar resin
Musksenveloping base
Counter-subject
Iristender powder
Cedarwooddry wood
Tail
Rosemarybright aromatic
Orangesweet citrus
Rosewarm floral
Elemilemony resin
Incensebright smoke

The through-line is light: sandalwood, vanilla and amber hold the warmth of the heart, iris and cedar powder it, and the tail of rosemary, orange and elemi lets an almost solar brightness in.

Olfactory profile

Luce dei Cuori opens on an enveloping warmth: milky sandalwood, vanilla and tonka bean compose an amber softness that patchouli weights with a dark wood. This is a comfortable oriental, made to reassure more than to impress.

The heart brings brightness: iris powders the warmth and keeps it from weighing, cedar draws a dry line through it. This layer gives the perfume its upright hold, that discreet elegance the house claims as an inner luxury.

The tail is the true light: rosemary and orange open an aromatic, solar window, rose warms, elemi and incense send up a bright smoke. Longevity is that of an extrait, long and close to the skin; the sillage stays soft and round, consoling rather than demonstrative.

“Our emotions need a light often found not outside, but inside the heart.”Filippo Sorcinelli, official note for the SuperFluo? collection
