Quick answers
History
The third fog of the Atmosphere d'Emotion collection, presented in 2017, Nebbia Densa is the fog of the forest. It closes the mist triptych after Nebbia Spessa (the sea) and Nebbia Fitta (the river).
The official text is a woodland scene: the extension of a fallen branch among the wet moss, furrowed by our uncertain steps among the trees that move the cathedral of mystery, without horizon. Thin clouds reshape the shapes, the measure of things is missing, in a frozen dark green.
The harmonic evolution runs in three moves: a subject of vetiver and sandalwood, a counter-subject of botanical musks and Palo Santo, a tail of dew accord. It is the woodiest and greenest of the three fogs.
The result is a forest woody vetiver, damp and rooted, where moss and sacred wood hold the mist among the trees. A perfume of undergrowth in fog, the green close of the mist series.
Olfactory pyramid
Filippo Sorcinelli is an organist; he does not think of his perfumes as a volatility pyramid of top, heart and base, but as a score. Nebbia Densa is therefore stated in three movements, subject, counter-subject and tail, exactly as the house publishes them.
The through-line stays the same: the subject opens, the counter-subject shades, the tail closes, holding dense fog in scent.
Olfactory profile
Nebbia Densa opens green and woody: vetiver gives its smoky root, sandalwood a creamy softness. It is an undergrowth opening, damp and dark, without the slightest citric freshness.
The heart thickens the forest: botanical musks lay down a vegetal musk, and Palo Santo a sacred, resinous wood that smokes faintly. This is the layer that gives the scent its cathedral of trees and its air of motionless mist.
The tail is a dew accord, a green water that settles the mist on the vetiver. It lasts like an extrait, long and rooted, with a green, woody trail close to the body. A woody vetiver for autumn and the mid-seasons, best worn in the forest or in damp weather.
