History
extrait de musique is the collection Filippo Sorcinelli devotes to organ music. An initial formulation had translated the stops of the great organ of Notre-Dame Cathedral into olfactory matter; in 2026, presented at the Esxence show in Milan, the collection is reborn in seven new fragrances. ORGAN #7 is its last movement, the gravest, where the organ accompanies a farewell.
The scene is the end of a mass dedicated to a newborn. The church knows a moment of absolute suspension: the air retains the warmth of gathered bodies, silence stretches through the nave with an almost tangible density. Then the organ begins a measured chant, at once grave and clear, a sonic fabric that receives sorrow and guides it toward a higher form.
The music rises slowly, sustaining the assembly, lending the farewell a composed solemnity. In that moment, the bells join the inner sound of the organ and expand its emotion beyond the walls. The bronze resonates through the city air, announcing a loss and at the same time a hope, blending urban life with the breath of ritual. The sacred building becomes a resonating body for a collective emotion.
Pain is transformed into prayer, and fragility opens itself to transcendence. The fragrance preserves an echo of softness; the sound holds the emotion and transfigures it into a trail suspended between earth and eternity, where memory, music and light converge in a single movement of elevation. Like the six other chapters, ORGAN #7 is sealed with a melted vinyl stopper.
Harmonic evolution
Filippo Sorcinelli is an organist; he does not conceive his perfumes as a pyramid of volatility but as a score. ORGAN #7 is therefore stated in three movements, subject, counter-subject and tail, as the house publishes them.
Oakmoss and musk lay down a soft, enveloping base, the organ's sonic fabric transposed into matter. The house smoke accord and myrrh add a resinous, bittersweet gravity, the incense of the farewell. The powdery veil and coconut milk close the perfume on an almost childlike tenderness, the echo of softness the house speaks of.
Olfactory profile
ORGAN #7 is a soft musk of great restraint. From the opening, oakmoss and musk set a low, enveloping matter, with no burst or display. It is a perfume of suspension, in the image of the nave's silence before the organ rises.
The counter-subject brings gravity. The house smoke accord and myrrh lay a bittersweet resin, the smell of the incense that accompanies the farewell. That depth never weighs: it sustains, as the organ's chant sustains the assembly, and guides the emotion upward.
The tail is a gesture of tenderness. The powdery veil softens everything, while coconut milk brings a lactonic, almost childlike note, the echo of softness that closes the perfume. Longevity is that of an extrait, long and skin-close; the sillage, musky and powdery, leaves a suspended trail, in keeping with sorrow transfigured into prayer.
“Pain is transformed into prayer, and fragility opens itself to transcendence; the sound holds the emotion and transfigures it into a trail suspended between earth and eternity.”Filippo Sorcinelli, on ORGAN #7
Key characteristics
When and where to wear
ORGAN #7 is a musk of recollection, in any season. Its powdery softness blooms in autumn and winter, but its musky lightness also lets it carry spring. Discreet and skin-close, it suits intimate moments and quiet times; in high summer, the myrrh and moss are best dosed with measure.
