Origino

In the beginning was Origino. The concentrated ball of musks that Vanina Muracciole assembled in extrait became the very origin of the Jeroboam house: a scent worn alone, like a signature, or layered beneath another.

History

Everything starts with a question. Francois Henin, founder of the Paris boutique Jovoy, wondered whether he could truly smell musks, those materials that slip away in a store saturated with scent. He handed the question to perfumer Vanina Muracciole, who answered with a base: a cocktail of musks concentrated as an extrait, later named the enigmatic musks.

That base is Origino, the origin in the literal sense. What was meant to be an olfactory game between Vanina and Francois turned into the through-line of a whole brand. Around the ball of musks sit bergamot and pink pepper at the opening, resinous juniper and warm nutmeg at the heart, creamy sandalwood at the base. The name Origino, origin in Esperanto, seals the starting point of Jeroboam.

Francois Henin likes to say that Origino is like everything in life: a scent you can wear on its own, or with company. Worn alone, it acts as an olfactory signature that people immediately tie to the wearer. Overdosed under another fragrance, it stretches the wear and swells the volume of the trail. It is the mother extrait of the collection, the one all the others descend from.

Olfactory profile

Origino opens quietly: bergamot and pink pepper lay down a spiced clarity, without needless sparkle. The scent quickly folds back onto its central material, the musk base Vanina Muracciole wanted enigmatic, neither fully clean nor frankly animalic, a warm skin that is hard to name.

Juniper and nutmeg slip an aromatic, warm thread through the heart, keeping the musk from turning soapy. Sandalwood at the base rounds the whole in a creamy woody softness. This is a close-range perfume that lives against the skin rather than in the air.

As an extrait it lasts long and its trail is deliberately held back: Origino is discovered up close, like a secret. Its role as a layering base also makes it a companion to the other juices of the house, whose musky bottom it thickens. A signature musk, wearable all year.

Common questions

What does Origino mean?01
Origino means origin in Esperanto. The name points to the perfume's founding role: its musk base, called the enigmatic musks, is literally the origin of the whole Jeroboam brand.
What is its concentration?02
Origino is an extrait de parfum, the highest concentration in perfumery. Like all of Jeroboam's Classic Collection, it comes in 30 ml and 100 ml bottles.
Is Origino unisex?03
Yes. It is a signature musk made for everyone, and its reading depends mostly on the skin that wears it.
Can it be layered with another perfume?04
That is in fact its first vocation. Sprayed under another Jeroboam extrait, Origino lengthens the wear and thickens the musky base of the composition.
Does Origino project a lot?05
No. Despite its concentration it stays skin-close and discreet. It is discovered up close, which makes it an intimate musk rather than a room-filling scent.
Who composed Origino?06
Independent perfumer Vanina Muracciole, author of the entire Jeroboam collection and of the enigmatic musks base that ties it together.
