Quick answers
History
Initio Parfums Privés was founded in Paris in 2015 by the Sprecher Berrier Group under Julien Sprecher, who had already created Parfums de Marly. The house works as an editor: no perfumer is on staff, formulas are commissioned from outside noses, and some of them are named, among them Maurice Roucel and Hamid Merati-Kashani. For Oud for Grace, none is.
The fragrance belongs to the Black Gold Project, the collection Initio reserves for oud, framed as a spiritual fire tied to a symbolism of elevation. Oud for Greatness (2018) is its standard bearer, having gone viral on social platforms from 2020 onward, and Oud for Greatness Neo and Oud for Happiness already worked variations on it. Oud for Grace joins that run of titles and borrows its naming grammar outright.
The rollout came in stages: official product pages were published between 14 and 19 August 2026 depending on format, with the item flagged as new on the house site. One size is announced, 90 milliliters of eau de parfum. The collection therefore gains an entry pitched distinctly sweeter than its predecessor.
Olfactory pyramid
The house lists a three-tier pyramid on the product page, with one peculiarity: oud appears in two of the three tiers.
By restating oud in the heart and again in the base, the house makes it the spine of the fragrance rather than an accent: everything else is placed in relation to it.
Olfactory profile
The opening is short and works as an airlock. Bergamot and black pepper are a common pairing in current oud compositions, the citrus to avoid a blunt entry, the spice to signal the woody dryness ahead. Two materials on top against four in the heart and four in the base: the shape of the list says at once where the fragrance happens.
The heart is where the decision is made. Oud is paired with vanilla and praline, two materials that run directly counter to its bitter, leathery nature. This is the dominant reading of oud in recent niche seasons, the one that makes the material comfortable; the unspecified precious woods, a generic phrasing the house uses often, leave the woody accord open enough to absorb that sweetness.
The base is at once the most interesting and the most conventional part. Sandalwood, cedar and guaiac lay out three textures, creamy, dry and smoky, and oud returns to sign them. If the fragrance holds over a full day, it will hold from there: heart praline fades faster than a stack of woods. The house builds its scents to be noticed, and Oud for Grace is no exception.

When and where to wear
Oud for Grace needs room. Its woody density and its sweetened heart point to cold weather and evening settings where a wide trail causes no trouble; it becomes hard to carry as soon as the air warms up or the space narrows.
