Quick answers
History
Oud Maracujá is an extrait de parfum by Maison Crivelli, the Paris house founded by Thibaud Crivelli. The house does not date it on its page. ÇaFleureBon reviewed it as a 2023 release on 11 September 2023.
Like every Crivelli scent, it starts from something the founder lived through. The house places this one in an isolated oud forest, in houses on stilts, where Crivelli had his most unexpected encounter with oud.
The perfumer is Jordi Fernandez. Several materials carry the ORPUR label, which the house describes as the finest naturals in Givaudan’s palette.
It belongs to Évasions Olfactives, the house’s oud collection, and to its Emblématiques line. According to the house, Fragrantica readers voted it best niche fragrance of 2024.
Fragrance notes
Maison Crivelli does not publish a three-tier pyramid. It lists ten key materials and places some of them in the text of its page. The table follows those indications.
Per the house, a vanilla and cistus accord wraps the base, and a touch of Akigalawood adds to the trail. The oud is described as an accord, not as a natural material.
Scent profile
Oud Maracujá’s scent profile rests on a contrast the house spells out: the thirst-quenching freshness of passion fruit against the tropical heat of oud. Saffron and Turkish rose bridge the two.
The base is more amber than smoke. Benzoin, vanilla and cistus round it out, while leather and patchouli give it grip. The house files it as “exotique, boisé et fruité”: exotic, woody and fruity.
Key characteristics
When and where to wear
Maison Crivelli gives no wearing advice. At 32% concentration, with a vanilla and cistus base, one or two sprays are enough to judge it.
