History and inspiration

Tanger is one of the seven perfumes that launched La Route de la Soie in October 2020, Ormonde Jayne's Silk Road collection for its twentieth anniversary. It takes its name from Tangier, the Moroccan port at the mouth of the Mediterranean, and renders that sunlit crossroads as a warm, golden floral.

It opens on a solar citrus accord of Italian mandarin, Italian bergamot and ylang-ylang, then turns to a floral heart of rose petals, cashmeran and neroli. The base brings warmth and depth with oakmoss, dry amber, Madagascar vanilla and a balsamic accord, so the brightness settles into a soft glow.

Olfactive profile

The signature of Tanger is its golden warmth. The ylang-ylang adds a creamy, solar richness to the citrus, the neroli keeps the heart bright, and the amber and vanilla base gives the composition a soft, lingering glow.

On skin it opens luminous and slightly creamy, then warms steadily as the florals give way to the amber base. It projects moderately and lasts well, settling into a soft, vanilla-amber drydown.
