The house
Tom Ford Beauty launched its Private Blend collection in 2007 in New York (United States). The collection was designed to position Tom Ford within the niche perfumery conversation, offering limited-distribution fragrances with a higher price point and more distinctive material profiles than mainstream launches. Private Blend established a model subsequently adopted by several major houses.
The collection works with multiple external perfumers. Oud Wood (2007) and Tuscan Leather (2007), both composed by Richard Herpin, established the house's competence in dense, material-forward oriental and leather constructions. Tobacco Vanille (2007), composed by Olivier Gillotin, became one of the most commercially recognized entries in the collection.
On Osmetheca, Tom Ford is represented by three fragrances: Oud Wood (2007), composed by Richard Herpin, a smooth smoky oud with rosewood; Tobacco Vanille (2007), composed by Olivier Gillotin, a sweet tobacco vanilla oriental; and Tuscan Leather (2007), composed by Richard Herpin, a raspberry leather accord.
