History
À la rose arrived in 2014 as a statement. A devotee of the queen of flowers, Francis Kurkdjian made it a tribute to women, whom he said he wanted to celebrate with fervor. Each bottle gathers four hundred roses: two hundred fifty Centifolia roses from Grasse with honeyed notes, one hundred fifty Damascena roses with pear and lychee facets.
To escape the candied-rose cliche, the perfumer surrounds it with violet and magnolia. This powdery, fresh setting keeps the flower away from bonbon sweetness: the rose stays clean and luminous, carried to the end by a transparent musky base rather than a sugary one.
À la rose founded a small family. It gave rise in 2019 to l'eau À la rose, a fruitier eau de toilette, then in 2020 to l'Homme À la rose, a masculine reading of the same flower. Three ways to wear a single rose.

À la rose opens on a bright, fruity rose: the Damascena brings pear and lychee facets that sparkle, sidestepping from the start the pitfall of the dusty old-rose. The effect is fresh, almost crisp.
The heart sets the Grasse Centifolia rose, more honeyed and velvety. It is the most floral moment, where the flower fully unfolds, yet the house keeps it powdery thanks to the violet already surfacing. Nothing turns to syrup.
The base makes the real difference: fresh magnolia, powdery violet and clean musks turn the rose into a scented skin, luminous and discreet. Longevity is moderate and the sillage tender: À la rose is an everyday rose, clear and feminine, worn like a second skin.
