History

SuperFluo? is Filippo Sorcinelli's most intimate collection, born of body care and released as extraits de parfum devoted to the person. Dolcissimo Sollievo is its second panel, inseparable from Luce dei Cuori: the two form a diptych drawn from the same emotional humus and the same liturgical line.

The house describes a search for olfactory elegance and a new understanding of luxury: a luxury housed in matter, in availability, in questioning oneself and knowing oneself from within. These are perfumes for a society founded not on the race, made of aware, discerning consumers seeking distinctive fragrances.

The name comes from the Sequence to the Spirit, the hymn of Pentecost. Dolcissimo Sollievo, sweetest relief, says everything of the project: to remind and to move, because weeping is essential to give value to emotions, because light is often found inside the heart. Knowing how to read one's own interior offers, Sorcinelli writes, the perfect consolation.

Sorcinelli states it as a harmonic evolution. The subject lays an amber softness through vanilla, tonka bean, patchouli, amber and musks. The counter-subject airs and flowers it with lily of the valley, a marine note and iris. The tail signs it with an aromatic brightness: rosemary, gardenia, elemi and incense. It is an oriental more floral and fresher than its twin, a luminous consolation.

Harmonic evolution

Filippo Sorcinelli is an organist; he does not conceive his perfumes as a pyramid of volatility but as a score. Dolcissimo Sollievo is therefore stated in three movements, subject, counter-subject and tail, exactly as the house publishes them.

Vanillawarm sweetness

Ambersolar resin
Musksenveloping base
Counter-subject
Lily of the valleygreen floral
Marine noteopen air
Iristender powder
Tail

The through-line is relief: vanilla and amber hold the softness of the base, lily of the valley and the marine note open it, and the tail of gardenia, elemi and incense lets a bright light through.

Olfactory profile

Dolcissimo Sollievo opens on an amber softness: vanilla, tonka bean and amber compose a warm base that patchouli barely weights. You recognise the kinship with Luce dei Cuori, but what follows takes a more floral turn.

The heart opens the window: lily of the valley brings a tender spring green, the marine note a breath of fresh air, iris a soft powder. It is this floral, marine breath that sets Dolcissimo Sollievo apart from its woodier, more solar twin.

The tail brings brightness: gardenia flowers again, rosemary airs, elemi and incense send up a light smoke. Longevity is that of an extrait, long and close to the skin; the sillage stays soft and enveloping, a relief rather than a statement.

“Knowing how to read one's own interior gives us the perfect consolation.”Filippo Sorcinelli, official note for the SuperFluo? collection
