History
SuperFluo? is Filippo Sorcinelli's most intimate collection, born of body care and released as fragrances devoted to the person, in extrait de parfum. Fango e Pesca, "mud and peach," is the most earthbound of them: a perfume about what falls and what remains.
The official text is a poem, The Falling Fragrance: "the earth receives, like a rough cushion, the fruits of a memory unashamed," "between my fingers I hold the peach, still warm from the sun," "a bite that tastes of mud, a sap of rain and dirty hands." And that closing line, which hands you the key to the scent: "perhaps mud is life."
Sorcinelli states it as a harmonic evolution. The subject bites into the fruit: ripe peach, a note of rain, violet leaves and coriander. The counter-subject sinks the step into the soil: apricoty osmanthus, a mud accord, a smoky gurjum resin, a jasmine. The tail is a forest floor: patchouli, oakmoss, musk, tobacco leaves.
The result is a fruity chypre that refuses prettiness. The peach is not a candy but an over-ripe fruit, almost bruised; the mud is not a flaw but the ground of the picture. It is the memory of a garden, of a firefly lost in warm nights, held by an accord of damp earth.
Olfactory pyramid
Filippo Sorcinelli is an organist; he does not conceive his perfumes as a pyramid of volatility but as a score. Fango e Pesca is therefore stated in three movements, subject, counter-subject and tail, exactly as the house publishes them.
The through-line is falling: peach and rain set the fruit that drops, osmanthus and the mud accord sink it into the soil, and the tail of patchouli, oakmoss and tobacco turns it into ground.
Olfactory profile
Fango e Pesca opens on a ripe peach, but one immediately soiled by a note of rain, violet leaves and coriander: the fruit is there, never candied, held to the green, damp side rather than the sweet one.
The heart is the knot of the perfume: osmanthus lends its apricot-and-leather skin, the mud accord lays down a damp earth, the gurjum resin brings a dry smoke. This is where the house keeps its promise, letting fruit and mud share the same ground without one winning out.
The tail is a forest floor after rain: patchouli, oakmoss, musk and tobacco leaves. Longevity is that of an extrait, long and tenacious; the sillage is earthy, contemplative rather than seductive. An autumn-wet perfume, for anyone who loves chypres unafraid of shadow.

Key characteristics
When and where to wear
Fango e Pesca is a chypre of mood, made for damp weather and cool mid-seasons. Its wet earth and ripe peach come alive in autumn, while coriander and violet air it out in spring. It is a perfume of gray days and indoor evenings, more than a summer scent.
