History and inspiration
Montabaco Intensivo is composed for Ormonde Jayne, the independent British house founded in 2001 in London (United Kingdom) by Linda Pilkington, whose perfumes are handmade in England. It belongs to the Four Corners of the Earth collection, and Intensivo is the name the house gives to the maximum strength edition of the perfume.
Montabaco sets out to capture the essence of Latin America. Leather, suede, wood and tobacco leaf return again and again through the composition, building a suggestive sensuality and a warm Latino temperament. These darker materials are not left to stand alone: they sit beneath a rich floral presence of magnolia, jasmine and rose, which softens the leather and keeps the whole composition supple rather than severe.
The opening is aromatic and lightly citrus, with an air note, orange absolute and bergamot lifted by juniper, clary sage and cardamom. The heart turns floral and plush around magnolia, hedione, rose and violet, threaded with tea notes. The drydown is where Montabaco settles into its true character, a smooth blend of tobacco leaf, suede and sandalwood with moss, tonka and ambergris, rounded by Iso E. At Intensivo strength this base reads deeper and longer than the standard edition.

Scent profile
The signature of Montabaco Intensivo is its marriage of soft leather and tobacco with a floral heart. The leather and suede are smooth rather than raw, and the tobacco leaf reads as a warm, slightly sweet pipe-tobacco facet rather than anything smoky or ashy. Magnolia, rose and violet keep the composition rounded and wearable.
On skin the perfume opens bright and aromatic, then warms steadily as the florals give way to the woody amber base. The Intensivo concentration gives it presence and tenacity, with the sandalwood, tonka and ambergris carrying a soft, sensual trail close to the body. Its profile reads impactful, sensual and smooth.
