Muscat belongs to La Route de la Soie, the Silk Road collection Ormonde Jayne launched in October 2020 and expanded the following year. Added in 2021, it takes its name from Muscat, the historic Omani port on the frankincense trade, and builds a rich, spiced oriental around that heritage.
It opens on a warm, fruity-spiced accord of saffron, dates and cinnamon, then turns to a resinous heart of olibanum, incense, halva and rose essence. The base brings the warmth home with oud, cardamom, oakmoss and vanilla, the oud kept smooth rather than sharp.
