Quick answers
History
The second fog of the Atmosphere d'Emotion collection, presented in 2017, Nebbia Fitta is the fog of the river. It sits between Nebbia Spessa (the sea) and Nebbia Densa (the forest), and it is the heaviest of the three.
The official text describes a riverbank: where iron and stone along the river have soaked into the oxygen. Nothingness becomes a dusty presence; one attempts a journey into the impossible by clinging to a rusty, wet support. Bring your hand closer, close your eyes, listen to the silence.
The harmonic evolution sets it in three moves: a subject of amber and patchouli, a counter-subject of precious woods, a tail of damp earth accord. Where the marine fog was saline, this one is ambery and mineral.
The result is an earthy amber woody, low and damp, keeping the heaviness of saturated air close to the ground. A perfume of riverbank and rust, the most earthbound side of the fog series.
Olfactory pyramid
Filippo Sorcinelli is an organist; he does not think of his perfumes as a volatility pyramid of top, heart and base, but as a score. Nebbia Fitta is therefore stated in three movements, subject, counter-subject and tail, exactly as the house publishes them.
The through-line stays the same: the subject opens, the counter-subject shades, the tail closes, holding heavy fog in scent.
Olfactory profile
Nebbia Fitta opens low and warm: amber lays down a golden resin, patchouli a woody earth. There is no fresh opening, only the thickness of charged air by the water.
The heart thickens further: precious woods add a dry frame, like the iron and stone of the official text. This is the layer that gives the scent its mineral heaviness and its fog-like density.
The tail is a damp earth accord, a wet soil that closes the fog low along the river. It lasts like an extrait, long and tenacious, with a low, ambery, close trail. An amber woody for autumn and winter, best worn in damp, cold weather.
“Bring your hand closer, close your eyes and listen to the silence that surrounds you.”Filippo Sorcinelli, official text of Nebbia Fitta
