History
Atmosphere d'Emotion holds three fogs, presented by the house in 2017: thick fog over the sea, heavy fog along the river and dense fog in the forest. Nebbia Spessa, or “thick fog,” is the one over the sea.
The official text is a plunge: in the invisible sea where we wander, mixing instant fear and convulsive pleasure, between saline repulsion and voluptuousness. The thick fog shifts the boundary of the self, smothered by a dull and distant sound, always a little high and suspended.
The harmonic evolution runs on just three materials: a subject of marine lichen, a counter-subject of aquatic notes, a tail built on a dew accord. It is one of the most minimalist compositions in the house, fitting for a fog that erases every shape.
The result is a gray, saline marine aquatic, almost without color, where seaweed and water fill the whole space. A perfume of mist and sea, reduced to the essential.
Olfactory pyramid
Filippo Sorcinelli is an organist; he does not think of his perfumes as a volatility pyramid of top, heart and base, but as a score. Nebbia Spessa is therefore stated in three movements, subject, counter-subject and tail, exactly as the house publishes them.
The through-line stays the same: the subject opens, the counter-subject shades, the tail closes, holding thick fog in scent.
Olfactory profile
Nebbia Spessa opens already inside the mist: marine lichen gives a saline, cold green seaweed, at once drowned in transparent aquatic notes. There is no sharp opening, only a sea that appears by degrees.
The heart barely changes: the same gray water, the same seaweed salt, like a fog that never lifts. The house embraces this refusal of relief, in keeping with an overcast sky.
The tail is a dew accord, a slightly softer green water that settles the mist on the skin. It lasts like an extrait, yet stays deliberately close and discreet, with a hushed trail. A marine aquatic for summer and the seashore, best worn under a covered sky.
