Quick answers
History
Oriento, the Orient in Esperanto, takes on a monument. Middle Eastern perfumery made the accord of rose and agarwood, the famous rose-oud, a universal reference. Vanina Muracciole offers a Paris rereading, where oud is not named as a material but suggested through saffron, styrax and a woody base.
Rose and ylang form a broad floral heart, lit by a lemon and an apple that bring fruit. Saffron and styrax dress the whole in a spiced leather, while sandalwood and patchouli close the composition on the house enigmatic musks base.
Oriento belongs to the first 2015 wave. It shows how Jeroboam seizes the great accords of world perfumery and runs them through its own prism: extrait concentration, musky writing, and a small bottle that contradicts the power of the juice.
Olfactory pyramid
Jeroboam publishes its perfumes in three families of notes. Here is Oriento, exactly as the house presents it in its official brochure.
From top to base, Oriento unfolds its writing, faithful to the notes published by the house.
Olfactory profile
Oriento opens on a contrast: the freshness of lemon and the bitterness of styrax set up, from the start, the tension between light and dark matter. Saffron adds its spiced leather, the sign of an oriental that will not be sweet.
The heart unfolds rose and ylang, rounded by a juicy apple. It is a broad but controlled floral, where the flower stays adult, never candied. Saffron keeps leathering it from underneath.
The base sets sandalwood and patchouli over the enigmatic musks, which give the whole its skin grain. Wear is that of an extrait, long, and the trail fuller than on the house's bare musks. An oriental floral for the mid-seasons and the evening.
