Quick answers
History
The Oud Mood collection appeared in 2013 as extraits de parfum: silk, velvet and cashmere decline oud through the textures of fabrics. Oud silk mood is its silky chapter, and the extrait is its original form, before the eau de parfum version.
The pyramid does not change: fresh bergamot, a Damask rose absolute at the heart, a base of oud, dry papyrus and smoky guaiac wood. The house does not detail separate notes for the extrait: it is the same signature, carried to a higher concentration.
The extrait thickens the material and brings it closer to the skin: the rose gains in velvet, the oud in depth, without the composition losing its airy character. As with the eau de parfum, the current description no longer mentions the blue chamomile of the historic versions.
Olfactory pyramid
The extrait's pyramid is identical to the eau de parfum's, as the house does not re-detail the notes for this concentration. Here is the structure as it unfolds.
The same path as the eau de parfum, from bergamot to smoky oud, but held denser and longer by the extrait concentration.
Olfactory profile
The opening echoes the eau de parfum's freshness: bergamot lights the entrance, but the extrait moves it along faster, eager to reach the heart.
The Damask rose heart is fuller than in the eau de parfum: the absolute unfolds a dense, satiny floral velvet that remains the true signature of the silk version.
The base of oud, papyrus and guaiac gains depth and staying power: the extrait clings to the skin, its sillage more muted than wide. A floral oud for those who want the silky softness of silk mood in a more intimate, more lasting form.

Key characteristics
When and where to wear
Oud silk mood Extrait de parfum is a concentrated floral oud, more intimate than the eau de parfum. Its density and staying power make it a wood for evenings and the cool season, to be dosed lightly to keep its floral transparency.
