Oud velvet mood Extrait de parfum

Oud velvet mood Extrait de parfum does not concentrate the 2013 eau de parfum: it rewrites it. Saffron opens, a peach and jasmin accord warms the heart, the base weds oud to a suede leather and copaiba balsam. A distinct composition, more carnal, more leathery.

History

In 2026, the house reused the name of Oud velvet mood, born in 2013, for an extrait de parfum version presented first as a Harrods exclusive before a wider release. The name and the velvet idea remain, but the formula changes.

Unlike other extraits from the house, this one is not a simple concentration of the original eau de parfum: it is a distinct composition. The retailer listing adds a peach skin, a jasmin accord and a suede leather, and removes the cinnamon of the 2013 version. That is what justifies a separate entry.

The result leans woody leather: the original velvet gains a suede facet and a carnal fruit, with oud as the through line. A caressing sillage, more sensual than the eau de parfum, in the house's most concentrated form.

Olfactory pyramid

The pyramid comes from the official retailer listing (Harrods). It differs from the 2013 eau de parfum: peach, jasmin and suede leather appear, the cinnamon is gone.

From saffron to leathery oud, the extrait shifts the velvet toward suede and peach, a more carnal reading of the wood.

Olfactory profile

The extrait opens on leathery saffron, familiar from the house's oud palette, but the turn is soon different: where the eau de parfum moved into cinnamon, the extrait slips toward fruit.

The heart sets a peach skin and a carnal jasmin: this is the clearest addition of the rewrite. The fruit rounds the saffron, and the jasmin gives it a floral flesh the 2013 version did not have.

The base weds oud to a suede leather accord and copaiba balsam: the original velvet extends into supple buckskin. The extrait concentration thickens the whole, long longevity and a caressing sillage, best kept for cold-season evenings.

Common questions

What year did Oud velvet mood Extrait come out?01
In 2026, presented first as a Harrods exclusive before a wider release, under the name of Oud velvet mood, born in 2013.
Is it simply the concentrated version of the eau de parfum?02
No. It is a distinct composition: compared with the 2013 eau de parfum, the extrait adds a peach skin, a jasmin and a suede leather accord, and removes the cinnamon.
What family does it belong to?03
It is a woody leather: saffron on top, a peach and jasmin accord at the heart, oud, suede leather and copaiba balsam in the base.
Why a separate entry from the eau de parfum?04
Because the formula differs enough to wear differently: the fruit and the leather change the character of the scent, it is not the same juice concentrated.
Does the extrait last long?05
Yes, that is the point of the extrait form: the concentration extends longevity for several hours, with a caressing sillage. A single spray is often enough.
What season suits it?06
Autumn and winter suit it best: the cold carries its leathery oud. In high summer it can feel dense.
