History

In 2019, the house declined Amyris femme as an extrait de parfum, the most concentrated form in its range. The intent is not to rewrite the fragrance but to deepen its signature: the same meeting of amyris resin and iris rhizome, served at a higher concentration.

The structure stays that of the 2012 eau de parfum, from pear and lemon blossom to the amyris base by way of sweet pea and iris. What the extrait changes is density, not the list of notes.

In practice, the extrait makes the iris more present, the amyris more enveloping, the top fruit more muted: the same elegance, but denser, longer-lasting and closer to an evening scent. It is an intensification, not a reinvention.

Fragrance notes

The extrait takes the structure of the 2012 Amyris femme, concentrated.

Base

The same path as the eau de parfum, from zesty pear to the amyris base, but concentrated: iris and amyris gain in depth.

Scent profile

The extrait opens on the same tender fruit as the eau de parfum, juicy pear and zesty lemon blossom, but the attack is more muted: the concentration softens the top glow and settles it more slowly.

The heart is where the extrait stands apart most: the powdery iris gains density, the sweet pea gains hold, and the whole takes on a more serious footing. The iris root, more present, pulls the fruity floral toward a powdery elegance.

The amyris base, musky and ambery, close to ambrette, grows more enveloping and longer-lasting than in the eau de parfum. Longevity is clearly higher, the sillage more present without ever turning showy: an urban fruity floral, concentrated to last.

"The Amyris femme signature carried to a higher concentration: denser, longer-lasting, without a single note added."Osmetheca, editorial note

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Amyris femme and Amyris femme Extrait de parfum?01
The extrait, released in 2019, is the concentrated version of the original Amyris femme (2012). It keeps exactly the same structure, pear and lemon blossom, sweet pea and iris, amyris, but denser and longer-lasting.
Does the extrait have different notes from the eau de parfum?02
No. The extrait takes the structure of the eau de parfum. What changes is the concentration, not the list of notes.
What family does the extrait belong to?03
To the floral family, fruity floral sub-family, like the eau de parfum: pear and lemon blossom on top, sweet pea and iris at the heart, musky ambery amyris in the base.
Does the extrait last longer than the eau de parfum?04
Yes, that is the point of the extrait form: the concentration extends longevity and makes the sillage more present. Two sprays are enough where the eau de parfum asks for three or four.
Is the extrait better suited to evening?05
Its density makes it more at ease at night and for polished occasions than the more daytime eau de parfum. It stays wearable during the day, dosed a little lighter.
What season suits it?06
Autumn and winter show off its iris and amyris density. It stays pleasant in spring; in high summer the concentration can make itself felt.
