History
Lux Visionaria is a fragrance of light and sharing. The house conceived it as an inauguration: that of the “Délire de Voyage” collection, which gathers the fragrances born of Filippo Sorcinelli's collaborations. The first of them brings together the perfumer and Bianca de la Garza, an American journalist, television producer and host of Mexican origin, founder of the vegan skincare line Bianca de la Garza Beauty.
The two artists met in Rome, on the occasion of a documentary Bianca de la Garza was shooting on Italy and its excellences. From that meeting came the wish to seal, four hands together, a work around two shared values: beauty and spiritual openness. The fragrance speaks of that search for a Beyond that consumes and defines, in a meditative, colorful cosmos.
The central theme is light, as it runs through the Bible from the first page to the last. The house quotes the prologue of the Gospel of John: “the true light came into the world.” Lux Visionaria seeks to translate that energy which gives life and color to all things, the manifestation of light as consciousness.
The object matches the intent. Entirely handmade, the fragrance is enclosed in a black-and-white box bearing Filippo Sorcinelli's drawings, covered with an iridescent dichroic film; a genuine amethyst crystal is set into the white wooden cap. Lux Visionaria is offered as an extrait de parfum, unisex. Like the house's other compositions, Lux Visionaria is stated as a score, subject, counter-subject and tail, exactly as the house publishes it.
The axis is light: a warm incense lifted by saffron and myrrh, softened by a floral heart, and veiled in a smoke that recalls the shadow light needs in order to speak itself.
Olfactory profile
Lux Visionaria opens on a broad, colorful incense. Vanilla, amber and patchouli give it an enveloping warmth, while saffron adds a leathery, luminous spice and myrrh a balsamic depth. It is a rich incense, more solar than the house's liturgical incenses.
The heart softens and lights. Lily of the valley brings a clear floral, precious woods a nobility, ambrette a vegetal musk and jasmine a solar note. This layer gives the fragrance its meditative dimension and its color, in the image of the two artists' theme of beauty and light.
The tail veils the whole. Ylang-ylang adds a creamy floral, artemisia an aromatic bitterness, and smoky accents recall that light is understood only against darkness. Longevity is that of an extrait, long; the sillage is enveloping and complex, in keeping with a fragrance conceived as a spiritual experience.
