Quick answers
History
Tonka Bodykon inaugurates the house’s theme 31 “Tonka”, a first sweet amber creation in which the tonka bean is brought to light in all its identity, magnified by a setting of balsamic notes that underline and amplify its natural facets.
The name borrows the English term “bodycon”, a contraction of “body” and “conscious”, meaning body-conscious. Tonka Bodykon means a “skin-tight tonka”, aphrodisiac and shimmering, that follows the body’s curves as closely as possible to highlight them; the word is written with the “k” of tonka.
The composition is a “tonka liqueur” infused with balsamic and fruity notes, inspired by the chromatic palette of a sunset setting the horizon ablaze. Intoxicating and fiery, one imagines it shimmering on the body of a deity performing a fire dance, billowing her veils in the evening light.
Tonka Bodykon opens a theme that Pierre Guillaume would extend the following year with L’Air & l’Eros, its abstract counterpart: for the first time, the house offered two consecutive creations on a single theme.
Olfactory pyramid
Tonka Bodykon unfolds in three movements, from ambery rum to resinous benzoin.
The thread is the tonka bean, treated as a liqueur, balsamic and fruity.
Olfactory profile
Tonka Bodykon is a sweet, liquorous amber. Ambery rum and tonka bean give a warm, enveloping attack, honey and apple a fruity heart, pistachio and benzoin a gourmand, resinous base.
Its signature is this “skin-tight tonka”, sensual and aphrodisiac, that follows the skin closely. It is an evening, cool-weather scent, fiery and shimmering, embracing its gourmand side without turning into pastry sweetness.
